Stowe Country Club Opened Today

The Stowe Country Club opened for the 2009 golf season today. For many locals and guests alike, springtime at Stowe Mountain Resort means transitioning from enjoying glorious afternoons skiing and snowboarding to plying golf. After all, Stowe is about being outdoors and enjoying the life enhancing experiences that the heart of the Green Mountains has to offer. So far spring 2009 has been filled with sunshine and mild temperatures. The grass is already bright green, flowers are blooming and this all bodes well for today’s opening of the area’s only 18-hole public golf course and country club. “The course is in fantastic shape,” exclaimed Josh Nicholls the Stowe Country Club operations manager. “While most area courses sustained damage over the winter, ours had none,” Mr. Nicholls adds.

“New pricing programs are already a success for the club, like the ‘Golf Stimulus Package,’ an early season incentive and referral program that has added 70 new members to the membership base,” claims Mr. Nicholls. Also new this season is the Stowe Country Club Points Card, an improved rewards program that gives card holders 25% savings on daily greens fees while earning points towards free rounds of golf or free skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort.

Also returning to the club this season are the popular Vermont Golf Academy instructional programs and the TNT League, a public Tuesday night twilight league that begins June.
